"I joined the Club in 1984. At that time I was looking for a pastime as a release from the stress of running a professional practice. I had tried a few other activities, but was intrigued when looking over the fence in Barrhill Road. There were lots of people, especially on Monday nights and Saturday afternoon clearly interacting and enjoying themselves.
I applied for membership and am so glad I did. Along the way I have met many people in this Club and other Clubs, and some of them have become life long friends. That was almost 40 years ago and membership of the Club has taken me on a journey I never could have dreamt of.

"I was invited down for an open triples competition in 2013 and it didn’t take long to catch the bug. The following year I became a full member and have enjoyed playing ever since.
Whether it’s the friendly Wapinshaws or the club championship I enjoy competing and interacting with my fellow members. Being part of the league team allowed me to make friends with other club members while representing the club competitively.
Outwith bowls the club offers entertainment nights and hire of the function suite with the best views in the district. Come along and see for yourself. " Andrew Tweed
